Lecture notes and gallery

What you can upload, the size limits, and how uploads count toward your storage.

Lecture notes

Lecture notes are part of the Standard plan and above. Each lecture note belongs to one of your courses and can hold many files, so a course's slides, handouts and reading list sit together on one card.

Accepted files: PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenDocument, and JPG, PNG or WebP images. We check what a file really is, not its name. The old binary Office formats (.doc, .ppt, .xls) and files containing macros are refused.

Limits:

  • 20 MB per file.
  • 10 files and 60 MB per submission.
  • 30 files per lecture note.

On your public profile, PDFs open in the browser. Every other type downloads under its original name. Images are re-saved as WebP and lose their metadata, including location.

Gallery

Press Upload photos to add up to 10 photos at once, 10 MB each and 60 MB in total. Photos are saved without captions. Type a caption on each tile; it saves when you click out of the box. Show only these lists the photos still missing one. The pencil on a tile lets you replace the picture. A photo that cannot be used is skipped and reported, and the rest are kept.

Starter allows 5 photos. Standard and Pro have no limit. Photos are also re-saved without location data.

Storage

All uploads count toward your plan's storage: 100 MB on Starter, 500 MB on Standard and 5 GB on Pro. The bar on Billing shows what you have used. Deleting a file frees the room at once. If you go over after a downgrade, nothing is deleted, but you cannot upload more until you are under the new allowance. See Upgrade, downgrade or switch billing period.

Gallery albums (Pro)

On Pro, each photo in Edit Profile, Gallery has an Album box under its caption. Type a name, such as "Field visits", and photos with the same name are shown together under that heading on your gallery page. Photos with no album come last. Remove the name to take a photo out of its album. If your plan moves below Pro the gallery is shown without albums, and the names come back if you upgrade again.
