Use your own domain

A personal subdomain and your own domain are part of the Pro plan.

Connect

On Domain, enter a subdomain you own, such as www.yourname.com (an apex like yourname.com cannot be connected, because it cannot take a CNAME record). We show the two DNS records to add at your registrar.

Statuses

1. Pending: we are waiting for your records.
2. Verified: your ownership is confirmed and the certificate is being issued.
3. Active: your site is live on your domain.

Check again asks for the latest status, the page also refreshes itself, and we email you when a new step is reached. Records can take a while to spread.

Need a name?

If you have no domain yet, the Domain page suggests names built from your own name and says whether each looks free to register. The registrar has the final say and sets the price.

If you leave Pro

There is no grace period for own domains. When Pro ends, your domain and personal subdomain stop and visitors are sent to eduprofile.ng/your-slug. The connection is kept, so upgrading again brings it back at once. The emails that warn a plan is ending mention this.
