Announcement bar

Use an announcement for something visitors should not miss: "Applications for my 2027 lab are open", or "Out of office until 14 March".

Setting one

Open Announcement under Your site in the dashboard and write your message. It has three parts:

• The message, up to 200 characters.
• A link (optional). It must start with https://.
• A last day (optional). The notice disappears on its own after that day, in Lagos time.

Save it, and the notice appears as a bar fixed to the bottom of every page of your site, in colours that suit any template.

What visitors can do

They can close the bar. It stays closed for the rest of their visit and comes back on their next one.

Good to know

• You can have one announcement at a time.
• Pages are refreshed every minute or so, so a change or an expired notice can take about a minute to take effect.
• To remove it earlier, clear the message and save.
