Sign in with a passkey

Use your fingerprint, face or screen lock instead of a password.

A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face or your device's screen lock. It replaces your password and your two-factor code in one step, and it cannot be typed into a fake website, which makes it safer than a password.

Add a passkey

Settings, Sign-in and security, Passkeys, Add a passkey. Give it a name you will recognise (for example "my laptop"), enter your password if your account has one, and approve on your device. You can keep up to ten.

Your device or password manager may offer to save the passkey so it is available on your other devices. That is handled by your device, not by EduProfile.

Sign in with it

On the sign-in page, choose Sign in with a passkey and approve on your device. You do not need to type your email.

Good to know

  • A passkey works only on the site it was made for. One made on eduprofile.ng does not work on a different address.
  • Keep your password or Google sign-in as well, so you still have a way in on a device without your passkey.
  • Removing a passkey takes effect at once. We email you when a passkey is added or removed.
  • Not every browser or device supports passkeys. If yours does not, nothing else about signing in changes.
